Process & practical notes

Shaping the Shoot

A strong shoot is shaped before the camera comes out. I begin by defining what the images need to communicate, then translate that into a practical plan for location, styling, composition and team. During the shoot I keep every decision connected to the central idea while leaving room for unexpected moments.

Step by step

01

Define the direction

I clarify the story, audience and visual objective, then create a focused direction that the complete team can understand and work from.

02

Prepare the set

I coordinate the location, people, styling, props, timing and shot list so that creative decisions can be made calmly and efficiently on the day itself.

03

Direct and select

On set I guide the image, watch the details and protect the visual identity. Afterwards I select the frames that tell the clearest and most consistent story together.

What I keep in mind

01

Give every team member one clear sentence that explains what the images should feel like.

02

Prepare a shot list, but leave space for unexpected frames and movement.

03

Check styling, background, light and body language as one complete image, not as separate details.
